We Drink No Wine Before Its Time (Now!)

After a stroll through Lithia Park and the weekly arsty-craftsy fair along the creek (designed to levitate tourist dollars from wallets and purses), we picked up a couple of take out "wraps" from another of the town's "hippie-dippie" eateries and returned to the park for a picnic lunch and a Q&A session with Sue Carney, one of the Artistic Directors of and performers in the nightly "Green Show" given on "the bricks" in the plaza between the OSF theatres. After 23 years, she is departing the scene as the Festival goes to a format that will involve rotating musical groups, probably with a different one being on stage each night during the summer and fall seasons.

After lunch, we engaged in activities that the other finds really B-O-R-I-N-G: Cindy went shopping, and Dick went wine tasting at three of the vineyards near Ashland. Cindy came back empty handed, but Dick netted three different local wines, one of which will accompany our pre-theatre dinner at a local Thai restaurant tonight. But as we were preparing to go on our separate "foraging" expeditions this afternoon, we ran into Robynn Rodriguez, the female "star" of "Distracted" and chatted with her about her superlative performance as "MaMa" in yesterday's matinee.

This evening we'll catch the performance of "Tartuffe", Moliere's classic 17th century farce about a "religious con-man" trying to "relieve" a wealthly middle-class Parisian of his daughter, and whatever else isn't nailed down in the house.
