Our lodging choices (all of them new to us) turned out to be A-One and we'd return and stay in each of them if the opportunity arises on future trips. Our membership in the Oregon Shakespeare Festival has been renewed, and chances are we'll be seeing plays there in sometime in 2008.
Dick has long wanted to take an evening ride on the Shasta Sunset Dinner Train which operates out of McCloud, but in the past we've never been overnighting in the area when the train has been operating. So, Dick is kicking himself for not double checking the
train schedule this train since we could have dined aboard the train the evening we stayed at the McCloud Hotel on this trip.We could have easily lingered a few more days at the Tu-Tun-Tun Lodge especially if the weather had been damp and cool (as it often is along the Oregon coast) inviting us to hang out in our cozy room with the fire blazing. The natural beauty of the Humboldt Bay area and the redwood parks near Eureka could have held our attention for a longer time span, too. But all trips have to end some time, and like all good trips, this one came to a close all too soon.
