Four hours after we departed Ferndale for the trip home, we turned off Highway 101 at Healdsburg and stopped for a pleasant midday repast at the Charcuterie near the plaza. After sating ourselves and taking a stroll around the town square, we hopped back in the car only to come nearly to a screeching halt in Santa Rosa thanks to road construction taking place where the freeway passes through the heart of town. Lucky for us, we weren't headed northbound --- traffic was crawling along at low speeds all the way from south of Novato to past Santa Rosa.At 3:30 p.m. we bailed out cats out of the boarding kennel and headed home, dumped out the car, jumped in the shower, changed clothes and ran out the door to attend a dock-side birthday party for one of Cindy's friends who lives in the houseboat community down in Sausalito. On the
way home from the party, we picked up a take-out pizza, and sat in front of the television (for the first time in our a week) and caught up on the "Miss Marple" mystery series currently running on the Bay Area PBS stations.Dick has to "work" tomorrow leading a tour at the Bay Model, and Cindy will be back out at the MALT offices early next week to "Save The Cows". A trip "postscript" and more photos will be added to this blog in the next few days.
